How do you guys store your VR headset when it is not in use?
I don't want to hang it up so that dust can get on to the lenses, and I want to minimise the risk of a littl'un playing with it. (she loves my race seat and like to drive a car).
Having it close at hand when I am sat in my rig would also be a bonus.

On the floor wouldn't work for you then.. Ope, my wife or my daughter are li,Ely to stand on it, then blame me for leaving it on the floor.

Mine is on the floor in the gap between the pc and the rig. Otherwise I guess you can sort some hook system and hang it the other way, with lenses underneath?

What?! You re-box it after every use? I'm just glad I have a sim rig now, as setting up to go racing was getting in my way of actually racing. Having things ready to go makes it easier. Also, it'd be giving in to SWMBO to start to make the room tidy

Another positive for the versatility of aluminium profile Notice the can of compressed air, would sort your dust problem out Kev. Although I have no issues with dust whatsoever.

An alu-profile chassis would be good, but I am probably going to put the money towards a pool heating system. More than one person will enjoy that.

Make sure it's not in the sun, apparently the displays are easily damaged. I fitted some fancy replacement face seals and it came with a protective mask to put over the lens just in case.

I know what you mean, I tried tidy... when I first set everything up. Then after making adjustments or adding bits and having to cut cable ties etc I never bothered redoing them all back up. My thought’s were there’s only myself going in there (isn’t room for anyone else ) and I know where all the wire are, that and of course I couldn’t be arsed

Did you find a solution Kev? I was surfing Thingiverse and seeing several 3D printed HMD stands.

Yes thanks. I got a wall mounted one, so that the screen is not exposed to dust as much. It also has a wall mount for the hand controllers.

I changed mine after Grandson managed to grab it whilst stood up on my chair. I’ve also now moved to a wall mount, but again used a piece of profile. Best thing is, when wearing the headset the cable safely sits out of the way and doesn’t interfere, or touch any part of my bodythumbsup
