Thruxton BTCC 2020 Si/Wrighty Incident

Si hits Wrighty from behind as he is turning into the right hand bend unsettling Wirghty who has to take to the runoff area. Wrighty and Si continue to race Wrighty off track and Si on. Wrighty makes no attempt to slow to be able to re join safely and heads for the apex where he collects Si in a T-bone.
Rule 1 :If you leave the track for whatever reason, make sure it is clear and there is a safe gap to re-join the track. After doing so, accelerate to race speed as quickly as possible and do not block other drivers. Do not attempt U-turns on or near the track unless it is safe to do so.
On discord Wrighty defends this "I was left no option as I had to get to the right of the big black thing". Later in the race Dean leave the track at the same point on the track and slows sufficiently to re-join safely just as another car is on the apex. So I don't accept Wrighty's comments as any defence. He could have slowed and re joined safely but would have meant him and potentially Si losing places.

Rule 3:If you hit another driver during an event and disadvantage them in any way, you must let them regain their original position even if you lose places in doing so. If there is some doubt as to whether there was contact, ask the disadvantaged driver if you caused the issue. If they say 'yes', you must wait for them to regain their original place in all cases.
As Si made contact what should have happened if the rules are to be followed was Wrighty slow and re-join safely Si to wait until Wrighty has re taken the place and then carry on racing. If Si wasn't sure if he made contact or not this should have been clarified over discord. Any disagreement should then be given to admin after the race to sort.
Also note rule 3 is mandatory, there is no ability within the rule to allow either party to waive the application and allow the cars to continue without the place being given back.
