I'm not expecting a lot of it although the demo was a very good VR experience.

I have bought the deluxe version as well for €19.39 saving €10 over steam.

Problem for me is I’m only interested in driving on line with like minded people (ended up on AC till 01.45hr last night ) and really happy with AC and rF2. Would prefer to do most of the racing on AC as for me it is far superior to rF2, but as long as there are others around I’m not too bothered. I ended up buying Dirt Rally and used it about three times, non of which I enjoyed so buying another racing sim is probably not going to happen at the moment, even though I’ve only heard good things about PC.

Well after a 2 hour download and some faffing about with Steam and getting through PC2's very odd wheel setup I jumped in a Porsche 917 and headed for Le Mans. Snapshot impressions are that it's OK, though some of the cars I was racing against looked from behind to have a ride height of about a foot!

DiRT is £4.99 in the Steam sale. Probably as DiRT2 is due in Feb 2019. The rallycross is the only multiplayer part that is racing against someone at the same time. Maybe we could try this at Christmas?
Otherwise, AC and rF2 are enough for me. My other sim stuff is driving a truck in American Truck Simulator and Elite. Trucking is an excuse to listen to music and not concentrate too much.

Just ventured online for the first time - a pick up race that turned out to be in Ginettas (G40 I think, there are 3 Ginettas in the game). One lap of qualifying was all I knew about the car before the first race but I had a thoroughly enjoyable time I did get taken out at one point but got an immediate apology. For the second race I made extensive changes to the set up... OK, I lowered the final drive I suffered from several track limits warnings (you have to slow down until it tells you it's OK to go again) which was annoying as I haven't found out what constitutes track limits so I don't know how to avoid it. On at least one car the FFB is absent about 5 deg either side of centre but others seem fine. An earlier offline race was in torrential rain which was visually impressive though I had doubts about the level of grip which didn't seem much different to the dry (you do have to avoid the puddles which did a fair representation of what happens if you hit standing water) and I finished 15 seconds ahead of the AI who had been competitive in the dry. In career mode I was invited to drive a 917 - on the Porsche Leipzig test track that seemed a bit tight even to be a kart track!
Altogether, I'm happy with my "investment". It's somewhere between AC and EA's F1 games with good bits of both - the "game" parts of F1 201x like career mode and stuff but with a real(ish) driving experience. There is a wide variety of cars and tracks though I've only scratched the surface and the VR experience is good, with lots of detail to look at and give you the feeling you're in the real car. Slight disappointment is that there is only the 620R as I remember they modelled several Caterhams beautifully for the original Project Cars (I haven't driven it yet).

I tried driving the 620R and it was laughable, nothing like the real thing (using the default setup anyway). I have just found out how to move from one trackside camera to another and watched a replay of myself racing in VR, that was excellent, just like being at Oulton.

I have it and have not played it that much although there is some great content in it. Le-mans extra bit is good. need to get it setup right. Its not moddable either so if that's your thing stick with AC & Rf2. Mind you it all boils do to how much time you have for racing! 1.45 am Wrighty! that was fun..

Humble Bundle has it for £13.49 though I'm not sure what it comes with apart from "180+ licensed cars from iconic manufacturers". They also have the Deluxe Edition at £20.99.
I only mention it again because it's impressive in VR - other aspects of the game leave something to be desired.
