Hi all - I’m starting a league series around the BTCC mod on rF2 but I struggle to get my head around dampers as I kinda get what they do but don’t feel the difference when changing them. Can someone point me in the general direction. If it help my first round is at Donington and the car really doesn’t ride the last chicane at all well.
Thanks guys.

Hi Mike👍🏻
I’m no setup genius and haven’t been racing the BTCC is the following is general and my understanding.
Slow bump / rebound is to control weight transfer so increases or decreases the pitching forwards or backwards under barking or acceleration moving the grip balance.
For bumps and kerbs etc fast bump / rebound allow the suspension to soak up the track imperfections etc
So for kerbs you will want to soften the fast bump so the car is not jolted into the air when it hits a kerb, balance that with the fast rebound so that the wheel returns to its original position after the kerb as soon as possible without destabilising the car. The point I aim for is just as soft as needed and no more. Especially important with any car with significant aero.
Happy to be challenged on this though as maybe complete and utter rubbish. 😂
