Wife’s just had her C-19 test confirmed positive so weekend will be TV:- Le Mans, Le Tour and footy. I’ve checked and I’ve got wine, beer and something to eat so all’s well. Hope I’ve enough for the next 11 days.

Get plenty driving practise in John . Seriously though I hope all’s okay. Guy I played golf with last Friday has tested positive, but so far heard nothing from track and trace, so just carrying on with the social distancing.

You don’t need to get a call to self isolate, consider the following:
A close contact involves either face to face contact or spending more than 15 minutes within 2 metres of an infected person.
Do either of these apply? If you’re not certain then you need to consider self isolation.
Has he actually told the track and trace people that you played golf with him? We’re you at least 2m apart at all times? If not then you need to self isolate.
The NW is getting a spike in cases and any chance to help reduce that should be taken. It’s not necessarily about you it’s about the person you may pass it on to who then passes it on etc.
Worse case if you isolate is you spend a couple of weeks at home nailing some fastest laps.
Worse case if you don’t isolate ...
There’s a reason why I’m not racing at the minute.

Problem is where do you draw the line. Our only contact was a fist pump at the end of the game, followed by sitting down and having a couple of pints round a large patio table with only four chairs (would normally be 6). This was also last Friday, but we only found out today. Since then I’ve played golf with the sweep lads (Group of 16) on Sat and Sun which also included the same as above i.e. fist pump, beers etc and we also have a household of 7 Plus my Wife’s sister who returns to Cambridge on Friday. Don’t even want to get into the the other two guys as they have both played in two Opens this week in four different locations within Northumberland and with completely random people who are also from other locations, it just goes on and on . Also dispelled the NHS advice on temperatures as his work placed religiously tested them daily and his never rose above 37, still hasn’t . Sorry Simon didn’t really answer any of your questions: Certainly no face to face contact for up to 15mins and only occasionally, and very briefly did we stand nearer than two meters whilst on the tee. Track and trace would be informed via the tee booking system as you have to put the actual names of all people playing in the group specifically for that reason. Also have leave your name behind the bar.

Thing is Tony. It's not like you have a job to go to. Self isolation is then just getting your provisions in and 2 weeks at home. John - Best wishes to a speedy recovery and I hope it's just a minor inconvenience of being stuck at home.

Not every case has the same symptoms so this isn’t a surprise. So doesn’t dispel anything?
Because no one has told you doesn’t mean you shouldn’t self isolate.

Her symptoms appeared on Sunday and so far I’m ok and fortunately my wife seems to be slowly improving. Temperature gone down, not coughing as much, sore chest but getting better.
