Admin, please delete if you don't think this is of interest to SIM racing but I notice a few people have their own 3D printers here. I have an Ender 3 and home and a larger CR10 Max 3D printer at work. I also use Solidworks so can design and print my own parts. I.e. I'm thinking about printing a Cup Holder for my Racing Rig :-) A great source for looking at 3D print designs other people have shared in 'thingiverse' I have just printed this Fan Cowl for my Ender 3 - www.thingiverse.com/thing:4369859 Attachments:

Many people print 3D parts for Sim rigs, so I see no objection to having a thread on it.

I have an Ender 3 pro that I’ve upgraded to a glass bed, metal extruded and changed bed springs. I bought it as it was cheaper than buying 3D printed parts for the SFX 100 motion rig and use it for bits and pieces all the time. If it’s something quick I’ll design something in sketch up if not then my daughters product design degree comes in handy 👍🏻 Been looking at the British museum scanned stuff sketchfab.com/britishmuseum/modelsAnd there’s the Smithsonian 3d.si.edu/object/3d/command-module-apollo-11:d8c6457e-4ebc-11ea-b77f-2e728ce88125Need to print some more stuff for the rig first as I’m working on adding traction loss.

I’ve been using Tinkercad for some designs.

Fan Shroud fitted to my Ender 3. I love the fact that 3D printers make their own upgrade parts :-) Attachments:

Has anyone used the BL Touch upgrade so the printer runs auto levelling?

Has anyone used the BL Touch upgrade so the printer runs auto levelling? Yes, I have it on my CR10 Pro Max printer at work (bed 450 x 450). You still need to level the bed but it definately improves quality and the need for using a raft. I have also fitted a glass bed to my Ender 3 which is another worthwhile upgrade. My Son and a friend (Wes, who did a couple of races on SIG a few years back) both use BL touch probes on their Ender 3's Wes bought the BL touch probe and amended the code himself. He has also fitted a filament monitor switch so the printer stops and waits if it runs out of filament. He is currently 3D printing lampshades that reveal black and white photo's when lit. They look great. I intend to do a spherical 'Moon' lampshade showing all the craters when lit!

Went to a glass bed a few months back and still use it but still struggle with first layer adhesion so often print on a layer of double sided tape with a raft. If I can cure my first layer adhesion issues a Bl touch would be next on the list.
Do you use any spray or tape etc
Will have to investigate the filament monitor as always end up with a bit left over on the spool

I clean the glass bed with brake and clutch cleaner occasionally. I find 3D printers don't like old or cheap PLA filament when it comes to adhesion. My 2 Sons, Wes and myself have a 3D printing WhatApp Group which you are welcome to join. Just PM me your Mob number.

Fieldhouse Challenge - 100g Bridge is being streamed live on Facebook today at 12.00 pm if anyone is interested. Both my Son's (Lewis and Joe Yule) have entered (separately) which should be interesting as they both have 1st Class Degrees in Mechanical Engineering! www.facebook.com/groups/fieldhousechallenges/?ref=share

My 5 year old Granddaughter said she had a problem trying to join 2 female bits of Brio together. I got her to tell me what she needed, measured and did a simple drawing. We then fired up the 3D printer and 30 minutes after asking she was successfully testing her solution :-) Wonderful thing this technology lark. In my day, I would have just stuck it together with selotape! Attachments:

I’ll give it a go Kev, any particular colour? Black if possible please John. It is a replacement part for my Rift S, which I am thinking of selling, so it would be best if it blended in.
