If any one else wants to look at the telemetry from their practice /race then have a look at this www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Data%20Acquisition%20PluginIm using the Motec pro version and happy to share log files if anyone wants to compare? Helpful to me as I was trying to see where I was losing speed as it looked like everyone has greater speed down the straights and are slipstreaming me more easily than I could them. First thing Motec showed up was throttle position maxed out at 96%. So too close to 100 to show up in game with the orange bar but enough to make a difference. Off to clean pedals and swap clutch and throttle sensors which will hopefully sort

I may have to give this Motec a go, as it looks like it could be useful.

Yep cleaned and swapped sensors and they were both then reading 100% at full extension. So swapped back as leads fit better and all good. Apparently the magnet can pickup filings and it causes the sensor to under read.
Losing 4% throttle at Monza will kill you times.

Good news. I am sure that 75kg of ballast will slow me down a tad as well....

Screenshot of MoTec. This shows a couple of laps compared and you can compare braking points and exit speeds easily.
I've also used it here to show where I am locking up into corners and it shows I'm locking the fronts first so I've dialled the brake balance back to address.
Basically if rFactor measures it you can plot and compare it.

I've dropped 3 files for using Motec into dropbox hereOnce downloaded you need to 1. Run the plugin exe and point it at rfactor to install. 2. Run the mi2 Pro....exe which is the data analysis program 3. Unpack the Motec Project and drop the file called Spads GTR2 and contents into a folder called MoTeC Projects in your documents folder. 4. Jump in a car on a tack and you should hear "data acquisition " either enabled or disabled. Press Ctrl M a few times to make sure it's actually enabled. 5.Run a couple of laps or so. It doesn't have to be much to pick up some data and whole laps aren't needed. 6.Come out of rfactor and open up Motec, open existing project and navigate to your documents and the spads GTR2 folder you saved earlier. 7. Click on data (far left) and the open file icon at the top of the menu that appears. 8. Navigate to your rFactor folder > user data > LOG > MoTeC and find the sessions you've just run. 9. Click OK and review the data. 10. Just near where the data button you clicked earlier is there is a drop down menu Virtual dash, Tyres, Engine etc to chose a group of worksheets. Then to the right of that the individual worksheet names can be clicked on to be displayed. At least that's how it worked for me! Give it a go and if you think I can answer any queries feel free to ask but the answer may be "I don't know"

Simon, first question, is it John and Tony proof? Would we be able to operate it from a black computer? Finally, if there are issues will the hammer method work? If not, we will stick to adjusting our mirrors on rFactor

It's really easy to use once installed to be honest and it would be good to share log files to see what you are doing that gives you an extra couple of seconds. After all it can't be talent. If you you have team viewer installed I'm happy to logon and set it up for you? Just download the 3 files from my link above and give me a shout next time I'm around and on TS.

This is quite handy for setups. I like the way it takes you through bit by bit and keeps referring back to tyres and camber after every few changes.

Wow, there's some data there. Simon, would my black computer have sufficient 'stuff' to handle that on top of running rfactor?
