Thanks, I have F1 2013 which I played a few times, I suppose it simulates F1 racing even though it doesn't simulate driving in any meaningful way.
F1 2017 is free to play for two days on Steam.

2017 was quite fun after a bit of faff configuring it to work with my G25, I see why they’re giving away 2015, it has "lost contact" with my wheel several times and there are other glaring bugs like sparks continuing to come off my front wheel as I drove on after contact.
