OK so had a play over the weekend and wasāt that impressed to be honest felt the whole rig moving which was a novelty and then after a couple of minutes realised I had punched through a couple of the feet! So turned off and went back to the 3D printer to print more feet but this time stronger. Spent some time on Monday sorting out the cabling as I had just left it scattered while I was testing it. Noticed when testing the motors one by one I had fixed the wrong cable to the wrong motor I had the 2 rear motors the wrong way round I had connected the left to the right and vice versa which was the reason why the feet had punched through as it meant I was lifting a corner and not resting on all four feet. Fitted the new feet today and wow! This is unbelievable, the immersion it gives you is fantastic. Got Mrs Scoops in the rig and she just screamed for two laps and then fell about laughing so much she was crying. Now wants me to buy the roller coaster game that the software works with If anyone is even tempted I would say go ahead. The mechanics are simple to follow about the same as Mecano. The electrics are no more difficult than wiring a plug. Honestly itās 4 controllers that need power and then two other leads for each motor. The software installation is plug the Arduino in and press go. Last thing you need to do is drop a plug-in into some of the games. AC doesnāt even need this. The 3D printing is easy as well just send me the roles of filament (Iāll give you a link or just send me the money and Iāll get it) and Iāll print for you and post

Wish I could , unfortunately I donāt have the room and would need to undertake major construction work. The garage attic above my sim rig is used for storage, so Iāve adapted the access (drop down ladders) to fit with my current system. Iām Over the moon with my little 2 DOF system and would of loved something like this. Initially I used a lot of high setting (nearly thrown out the chair a couple of times ) as I was excited to see what it offered, but quickly learned āless is bestā and now use mostly subtle movements. Wouldnāt be without it now

Sounds great Scoops We need pictures. Or better still a video of Mrs Scoops on a rollercoaster

Well done! Let's get you back on track now. As I've said before, if it remains idle I'll happily take the rig off your hands to keep it from gathering dust and a side note: I reckon a few of us may just be deliberately trying out this motion sensor on you in a race.

I am trying to get back on track but donāt have masses of time to practice and then race at the minute so any odd half hours etc Iām currently running AMS 2 as I prefer it to everything else I have rF2, AC and Dirt Rally.
Itās not prefect but then none are but just getting back in a Caterham again to race is fantastic! šššš»

I would love one of these, but need a new rig first. That will have to wait as things need to settle down after the impact of COVID-19. Another good reason is that I have just bought a nice new pair of speakers for my HiFi....

..I have just bought a nice new pair of speakers for my HiFi.... Cool. I remember speakers (and hifiās) in the dim and distant past, when did we go from that to a little black dot sat in the corner of the room.

Wish I could , unfortunately I donāt have the room and would need to undertake major construction work. I think you might be able to fit it in. How much space do you have in cm spare sides and front and back? Itās not actually taking up much room as I expected even at full extension.

My rooms 300cm long and 165cm wide which is probably okay. Unfortunately the stairs drop down at 200cm and allowing for the angle at approx 140cm (height where the ladders touch back of seat) it drops to 140cm . My other issue would be the time it takes, unfortunately I donāt have your patience and I would want it done the same day or at most two. Finally, would 40x40 profile be strong enough?

Apparently having asked 40 x 40 will have a tiny amount of flex in it 80 x 40 a minute amount of flex and 120 x 40 no play.
The ground floor would be fine I think the profiles that make the actuators are 100mm x 100mm so add 20cm width in total and it does obviously tilt.
It does lift the rig even when it in use so you would need to race with the ladder put away and have a seat that folds forward when not in place.
The patience about having to wait over not having it at all is up to you š

Looks great Noticed this the other day as some guy has changed the one I have into a (sort of) full motion rig, rather than a seat mover youtu.be/Vt1gpHar5dw Not my cup of tea (bar between legs and canāt imagine being able to apply a lot of pressure to the brake) but nevertheless brilliant bit of lateral thinking

Not sure how comfortable I would be with that between my legs!
The SFX100 is modular so you can add more to it than just the platform mover. This guy, if you can get passed the scary into š³ has added a few more motors to tension the belts and to add moving rear traction loss. The standard version has feedback for traction loss but itās obviously not moving this much!

Bloody hell it looks like heās used direct drive motors just to tension the seatbelts . Would imagine thereās another 2/3k on top of his original build costs.

Doubt it very much they are smaller motors than the original which is about Ā£1.5k all in of which the motors are Ā£800. So I would say Ā£500 for the motors ish plus the belts and the frame work bearings etc Another Arduino and shield some cables and I think your done.
