Windows memory test didn’t show up anything.
Now running a stress test on the cpu to se if it is failing within an hour as I never get that far with rF2 and it doesn’t push the CPU to 100%
So I am assuming anything will show up by then?

Did it pass?

Yep no problems.
So I’m thinking it’s a specific problem in my setup that manifests itself in rF2 latest updates.
I’ll run a stress on the GPU but the monitoring suggests it’s not fully maxed out in rF2 anyway so not sure the problems there.
MOBO ? AM3+ is old now

Have you added motion etc. Recently? If so I would start there (or any other recent changes).

Not got round to any motion.
Anything added has been removed and tested without so any wheel mounted shift lights etc software taken out no button boxes crew chief off track i r disabled shadows and all other effects low or off no motec logging
Only standard plugins in game running.
Core parking running
I’ve looked through all I can turn off or lower demand and done it to no effect. It feels like there is something that now has just thrown my system over capacity by a very small amount. As the FPS doesn’t seem to be materially effected it seems to point to the physics and the CPU side? But stress test shows it can cope for over an hour quite happily at 100% demand.
Bit posed off I have a new wheel rig and rim and slowly gathering most parts for a motion system to find out I can’t run the sim on basic settings.
The chancellor of the exchequer is already looking at me funnily to say don’t ask ! 🙄

Have you tried rolling back the graphics driver to a version where it all worked?

Tried two different drivers newest and last running

Read on one of the forums someone had a similar problem because they had over clocked their 1070? Or hard drive issue maybe... he says clutching at straws!

Stress test on the CPU just shows the CPU is happy at 100%. What you need to know is what amount of CPU grunt do you need for rF2 to run smoothly.
Maybe you're hitting a bottleneck on your CPU or on a bus on your motherboard. The stuttering reduced a bit when you maxed the core parking.
You also need to take into account that rF2 has been changing nearly every build, as the Devs look to improve performance on DX11 and keep the game relevant for today's market. Some of these changes may be code rewritten to use features built into newer CPUs.
I don't want to suggest you spend on a new motherboard / CPU (that could also mean RAM as well), but that may only be the way to fix it.

Simon as your aware of my PC prowess take this as you see fit If it’s just rF2 have you tried a delete and new install? Also does the same thing happen when you use Asseto Corsa, obviously if you have it, or Dirt Rally?

I’m coming to the same conclusion Si
Wrighty rF2 is a relatively new install and AC and Rirt Rally use a different physics engine so not sure what that would tell me either way.
GPU is standard.

Are you having similar problems with other games? If it's just rF2 that would make a hardware issue unlikely.
