We'll probably need a thread for rF2 queries so here we go.
My question is I can't get rF2 to show my nickname correctly. Online it's currently showing as family_.... which is my email. So it looks like it's taking my steam account name and using it in game. If anyone knows how to change this can they let me know.

Ah yes, I did hunt around about that some time ago. It's the multiplayer name and it's in some file in your profile. Someone has posted something on an ISI thread, as some series insist you use your real name and rF2 from steam uses your Steam name by default. Sorry I don't have the link handy at the mo but it is possible to change this.

Next question I have is does the transparent trainer show up online for anyone? I get it showing offline but it shows a quicker timer recorded for the TT but it never appears on track?

It's a ghost car that runs your fastest lap in front of you in practice. Great for practice but would be good if it was showing online during practice as well.

After the discussion last night re the map plugin in rF1 I searched for one for rF2. HereBit of a fiddle to get running as the instructions for the plugins differ slightly for the steam version but now up and running. Just need to move the info boxes to where I want them.

OK I can move the info boxes around easily by using the mouse so no problems at all.
Along with the map it also give you the same sort of info as rfDynHud or the other one (Which I can't remember but had X in the name I think)
So shift lights, start lights times tyre wear etc etc all in boxes to be moved around the screen at will.
It also gives you the ability to have different layouts setup for the different sessions so you don't have the start lights in practice session but you can have times etc

Looks to be a good explanation of FFB settings for the G25/27 link
1200+ posts so should be something in there for everyone! Theres a couple of plugins for rF2 that look to help with reading the FFB output so can help with setting up any wheel.

Once I understand the settings a bit more I think most of the work can be done with the plugin(s), just need to see how they work. I might get to try one tonight and let you know if you're practicing.
